Paperturn's Copyright Infringement Policy (DMCA Policy)

At Paperturn, we take the protection of intellectual property very seriously and have zero tolerance for copyright infringement. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) (17 U.S.C. § 512), we have established protocols for receiving and addressing written notifications of alleged copyright violations as detailed below. Paperturn is committed to promptly addressing legitimate claims of copyright infringement that comply with the DMCA's requirements. Furthermore, we reserve the right to immediately terminate, without prior notice, the accounts of users found to be "repeat infringers."

1. How to submit a copyright infringement

If you are the rightful copyright owner or an authorized agent acting on behalf of the owner, and you believe that content available on Paperturn infringes upon your copyrights, you have the option to file a notification under the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). To initiate this process, please complete the copyright infringement form provided below:

Our notice form aligns with the requirements set forth by the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). You can review the full text of the DMCA on the U.S. Copyright Office website at https://www.copyright.gov/

**IMPORTANT NOTICE:** It is crucial to understand that under the DMCA, any individual who knowingly and materially misrepresents that content or an activity is infringing may be held liable for damages. Therefore, please ensure that your claim is truthful and accurate. Additionally, please be aware that the information provided in this legal notice may be shared with the individual or entity responsible for the content in question and that you agree to hold Paperturn harmless from any events arising out of copyright & trademark infringements from 3rd party content.

2. What happens if I receive a copyright complaint?

If a copyright complaint is filed against content you have uploaded to Paperturn, you will receive an email notification from us informing you of the complaint. If we reasonably find that your content violates a copyright, your content will be removed from Paperturn's platform.

Please note that repeated copyright complaints against your account may result in the loss of your ability to create new content, and in some cases, your account may be disabled entirely.

3. How to submit a counter-complaint

If you believe that the removal of your content was a mistake or that your content does not infringe upon any copyrights, you have the right to submit a counter-notification. Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, Paperturn will forward a copy to the original complainant.

If we do not receive confirmation within 10 business days that the original complainant is pursuing a court order to stop further use of the disputed content, we will remove the complaint from your account’s record and allow you to re-upload the content.
