How to add music and sound effects into your flipbook

Adding music into a flipbook is an amazing way to make your readers’ senses come alive and increase their engagement with your content! Paperturn’s sound feature makes it easy to incorporate sound effects, music, voice-overs, advertisements, podcasts and advertising messages directly into your flipbook.
 
You have two options when it comes to inserting sound into your flipbook:

• Insert background music, which will play over the entire flipbook as it’s being viewed
• Add individual audio files on different pages (you can add multiple audio files per page)

 

 

Follow the steps below to get started!
 

HOW TO INSERT BACKGROUND MUSIC INTO YOUR FLIPBOOK

STEP 1: Choose the flipbook you’d like to add background music to and click on the "DESIGN" tab in the flipbook’s settings.

 

 

STEP 2: Select the "Background Music" option. Once selected, you should:

 

• Decide whether your background music should autoplay or not. If you’d like your background music to autoplay as the reader reads through your flipbook, select the “Autoplay background music option”
• Add the mouseover text that will be displayed when your readers hover over the background music icon (optional)
• Upload the mp3 file for your background music
• Confirm that you own or have legal permission to use the sound file
• Click "SAVE CHANGES"

 

 

STEP 3: Open your flipbook to hear your background music live in action!

 

 

HOW TO INSERT SOUND EFFECTS INTO YOUR FLIPBOOK

STEP 1: Select the flipbook you’d like to insert sound effects into and click on the "LINKS/VIDEO & SEO" tab in the flipbook’s settings.

 

 
STEP 2: Find the specific page within the flipbook you’d like to insert sound on. Once you’ve selected the page, click on the "LINKS & VIDEOS" option in the right-hand menu and then “INSERT SOUND”.

 
STEP 3: Now, it’s time for the fun stuff! In this step, you need to:

• Upload the sound file you’d like to use (only .mp3 files are accepted)
• Confirm that you own or have legal permission to use the sound file
• Select whether or not your sound should autoplay when the reader reaches that page. If you would like for the sound to autoplay, tick the “Autoplay” option
• Add the mouseover text that will be displayed when your readers hover over the music icon (optional)
• Select the icon for your sound that your readers will click on to play the sound
• Select the colour for the icon
• Click "OK"

 
STEP 4: Once the sound is inserted, you can scale and move the sound icon to the desired place on the page. Click “SAVE CHANGES” to save the changes and ensure the sound has been inserted into the flipbook.
